About Rachael Maly

In a nutshell: Kind, Inspiring, Empathetic
Specialties: Self-Awareness, Emotional Regulation, Improved Self-Worth
Population: Adults, Adolescents, Children

Growing up, Rachael discovered art helped her manage emotions, gain insight, and find healing. Degrees in Fine Arts and Education led her to work artistically with children and adolescents in schools over the past 19 years.

After raising three children Rachael pursued a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and expanded her ability and desire to help families and individuals heal through art. She is a partner in the Art, Movement, and Life Skills Academy (AMLSA) and continues to work with students in a school setting, encouraging them to connect to inner wisdom through expressive and creative arts in order to foster each student’s innate sense of curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.

Rachael has designed curriculum and programs for the many groups of students she has worked with, providing experiences to help meet students emotional, cognitive, and social needs. She is skilled in managing large and small groups while attending to needs and styles of learning in a safe nonjudgmental environment. Rachael teaches that anyone can access art no matter the level of skill and she encourages students to bring their best self forward by promoting self-compassion, acceptance, and enjoyment. She has worked with thousands to build courage, focus, resilience, and self-confidence, helping each one find meaning through art in life.

*Rachael is provisionally licensed as an LPC Intern and ATR Provisional under the supervision of Deborah Lindeen, LPC-S and ATR-BC-S (expected to be complete by October 2020).
